These terms govern your use of Revvice (revvice.com), a platform operated by FindingYeti Pty Ltd ("Revvice", "we", "us"). By creating an account or asking a question, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the service.
1. What Revvice is (and isn't)
Revvice is a marketplace that connects people making car-buying decisions ("buyers") with independent motoring journalists ("journalists") who answer paid questions. Journalists are independent contractors, not our employees, and their answers are their own.
2. Your account
You must be 18 or older and provide accurate details. You're responsible for activity on your account and for keeping access to it secure. One account per person; we may suspend accounts used abusively or fraudulently.
3. Asking a question (buyers)
When you send a question you pay the journalist's stated rate upfront. Your payment is held and only released to the journalist once your question is answered. If the journalist does not answer within their stated response window (typically 48 hours), you are refunded automatically and in full — see our Refund Policy, which forms part of these terms.
One paid question entitles you to one considered answer. Keep questions lawful and civil: no harassment, hate speech, or content unrelated to genuine car-buying advice. We may remove content and refund/cancel questions that break these rules.
4. Answering questions (journalists)
Journalists set their own rate and response window, and may pause new questions at any time. For each answered and released question, the journalist receives 80% of the question price and Revvice retains a 20% platform fee. Payouts are made by EFT to the bank account on file. Journalists are responsible for their own tax affairs and warrant that their stated credentials are accurate. Verification badges are granted at our discretion and may be withdrawn.
5. Payments
Payments are processed by our payment partners: rand payments by Paystack, and payments in other currencies by Dodo Payments, acting as merchant of record. Your card details are handled by the payment partner and never stored by Revvice.
Prices in rand are the total amount you pay — nothing is added at checkout. For prices in other currencies, the merchant of record may add sales tax or VAT at the rate applicable in your country; the final amount is shown on the checkout page before you confirm. Revvice is not currently registered for VAT, and prices shown do not include a South African VAT component.
6. Content and intellectual property
You keep ownership of the content you submit (questions, photos, voice notes). Journalists keep ownership of their answers. Each of you grants Revvice a licence to host, store, and display that content as needed to run the service. Buyers receive answers for their personal use — please don't republish a journalist's answer commercially without their permission. The Revvice name, brand and site design belong to FindingYeti Pty Ltd.
7. Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Revvice's total liability to you for any claim arising from the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the six months before the claim. We are not liable for vehicle purchase outcomes, indirect losses, or the acts of buyers or journalists. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under the South African Consumer Protection Act that cannot be limited by agreement.
8. Ending or changing things
You can close your account at any time; questions already paid will complete under these terms. We may update these terms and will post the new version here with a new effective date — material changes will be notified by email. Continued use after changes means you accept them.
9. General
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa, and the South African courts have jurisdiction. If part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest still applies.
