Revvice is built around one promise: you only pay for an answer you actually receive. This policy explains exactly how that works. It forms part of our Terms of Service.
1. How your payment is protected
When you send a question, you pay the journalist's rate upfront — but the journalist doesn't receive it yet. Your payment is held securely and is only released to the journalist after they answer your question. Until then, it isn't theirs.
2. The automatic refund
Every journalist commits to a response window, shown on their profile before you pay (typically 48 hours). If your question isn't answered within that window, you are refunded in full, automatically — no forms, no support tickets, no asking twice. We'll email you confirmation the moment it's processed.
Refunds are returned to your original payment method. Once processed on our side, banks typically take 5–10 business days to show the money back in your account.
3. Answered, but something's wrong?
After a journalist answers, there's a 24-hour review window before the payment is released to them. If the reply you received isn't a genuine attempt to answer your question — for example, it's blank, off-topic or plainly automated — use "Report a problem" in the thread within that window. The payment stays on hold while we review, and if we agree the question wasn't genuinely answered, you'll be refunded in full.
4. What isn't refundable
An honest answer you disagree with is still an answer. Refunds don't apply because a journalist recommended against the car you'd set your heart on, because you found the same view elsewhere, or because a purchase you made afterwards didn't work out. Journalists give informed opinion in good faith; the buying decision is always yours.
5. Duplicates and payment errors
Charged twice for the same question, or charged without your question sending? Email support@revvice.com with the receipt and we'll put it right — duplicate and erroneous charges are always refunded in full.
6. Your statutory rights
Nothing in this policy limits any rights you have under the South African Consumer Protection Act. Payments are processed by Dodo Payments as merchant of record; refunds are issued through the same channel.
7. Need help?
Anything unclear, or a refund you expected hasn't arrived after 10 business days: support@revvice.com. A human replies within two business days.
